Planting with ReWild Wicklow

We partnered with ReWild Wicklow last week for more planting at the Wicklow Gap junction near the entrance to Glendalough. A lot of work has been done to create a green space on the newly designed junction on a steep bank by all the volunteers, who have been great, giving up their free time. Trees such as rowan, birch, hawthorn, hazel and holly etc., have been planted and protected from our deer population.

Works in Laragh

LGTT had a very productive meeting with WCC District Engineer William Halligan, Martin Stacey, Dermot and WCC area foreman Vinny last week regarding community concerns. Areas discussed included; flooding in Laragh village, disintegrated footpaths, kerbing at the Glendalough Cafe green space, lighting, blocked gullies, signage cleaning, traffic calming measures, and a community notice board.

Several positive decisions were agreed and work will commence on the village flooding areas as soon as possible. Keep an eye out for traffic management systems that will be in place so please slow down and take care.
